Editorial Assistant

Job description

SheFinds Media is looking for a driven self-starter to join our editorial team. The first 60 days will be contract, with the possibility of being hired full-time after.

This is not just a writing job--the Editorial Assistant will be responsible for creating high-quality content and delivering traffic results. The position is equal parts editorial/creative and analytical/data-driven.

This is an excellent opportunity to break into women’s lifestyle editorial. You will be a key member of our experienced edit team, and will get hands-on experience pitching, writing & creating winning content for the web, as well as growing traffic sources through a variety of tactics. Your stories will reach millions of women monthly.

We are looking for editorial generalists who can write about any topic with enthusiasm and accuracy, not just fashion and beauty.

Responsibilities:
Writing several posts per day (topics range from fashion, beauty, health, food, tech, weddings, celebrity and more)
Creating the content plan and weekly schedule
Drafting & sending daily newsletters
Managing top referral sources and social platforms (such as Flipboard, Pinterest & email)
Managing freelancers
Problem solving and leading brainstorms for what we can do when traffic is slow

Requirements

Ambition and a natural ability to write and think critically are necessary for the role, as is intellectual curiosity and a desire and willingness to work on a variety of things. Online media is an ever-changing space; you may be expected to take on different projects than the ones you were initially hired to do to support the business.

Ours is a start-up culture where delivering results and having tenacity are key. The right person will move up in the organization.

The ideal candidate shares our company Core Values: being Adaptable, having Ownership, being Ambitious, being a Problem Solver, and using Direct Communication.

Candidates should have previous editorial internships and/or entry level positions.

If you think you have what it takes to join our team, please send your resume and clips (or writing sample).
